We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant Consultant to join our Child Advocacy Center program.

Primary Purpose of the Role:
As a Medical Assistant Consultant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting medical providers at the Child Advocacy Center.
Your contributions will help deliver comprehensive care to young victims using a multidisciplinary team approach across our Central Islip and Riverhead locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Escort patients to exam rooms, measure and record vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and document all information accurately in patient charts.
Exam Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and assist medical providers during patient visits.
Sanitation and Maintenance: Disinfect and clean treatment rooms post-examination, maintain a safe and healthy work environment, and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
Supplies and Specimen Handling: Keep exam rooms stocked with necessary medical supplies, maintain and sterilize instruments, and manage the disposal of contaminated materials.
Assist with specimen collection, perform routine venipunctures, and prepare specimens for lab delivery.
Ongoing Learning: Attend relevant training and monthly case review meetings to stay updated on the latest research and best practices in the field.
What You Need to Succeed:
Educational Background: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Minimum of two years working with pediatric patients and experience with pediatric venipuncture is essential.
Skills: Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other agencies and professionals.
Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, calendar, email, and database software.
