Under the general supervision of the Medical Director of Outpatient Direct Clinical Services the Medical Assistant position is responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting practitioners during medical procedures.
The Medical Assistant position is also responsible for assisting with administrative duties as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Obtains and records patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Coordinates the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance.
Prepares treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assists practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
Delivers compassionate support, attention and assistance to patients and families.
Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Prepares and administers medications for patients as directed by physicians.
Completes clinical documentation as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a medical setting, with psych experience preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S): A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office/clinic setting.
