The Medical Assistant works with the general supervision of the health care team within Allegro Pediatrics.
They provide assistance to our providers and pediatric patients to ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic setting.
Strong pediatric phlebotomy skills and thorough knowledge of CLIA-waived testing are required.
Excellent customer service and communication skills are required for this position.
Qualifying candidates must have the ability to travel to all our clinics and be available for the weekend and holiday rotation.
You must have completed an Accredited Medical Assisting program and have an active Certified Medical Assistant license.
We are anticipating an early November start date.
Primary Responsibilities: Greet and prepare patients for provider Obtain and record vital signs and other required information into our electronic health record (EHR) Order, record, and administer immunizations.
Update and verify state immunization registry with accurate information Specimen collection and processing labs to appropriate level of training on newborn and pediatric patients.
Includes drawing blood via venipuncture or finger/heel sticks, nasal and throat swabs, etc.
Provide instruction on proper lab collection to patients and families Administer approved medications and vaccines via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intradermal routes, under supervision Inform patients of negative/normal lab or test results, under supervision Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment (Autoclave) Clean exam rooms and personal space per CDC and Allegro guidelines Prepare, stock, and maintain examination rooms daily Monitor provider in/out boxes and EHR task filter.
Ensure tasks are being completed daily Page specialty providers at SCH or another local specialist Create letters and notes requiring provider signatures Prepare forms for provider signature, including completion of non-clinical decision-making sections Phone calls to patients, parents, or other medical entities as appropriate Schedule patient appointments Retrieve any urgent medical records (i.e.
hospital, ER follow-up) for relevant appointments Ordering and stocking clinic supplies Other assigned duties as delegated by manager Promote atmosphere of patient care and customer service excellence, respecting patient rights, confidentiality, diversity, and developmental needs.
Participate in committee and quality improvement activities as requested Must be willing to travel to all clinics, if necessary Must be available to work on weekend and holiday rotations RequirementsExcellent customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent interpersonal/people skills Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills Enjoy working in a fast-paced patient focused environment with ongoing changes Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all clinics as staffing needs change Must be 18 years of age or older Pre-Employment Requirements: Background check Drug testing in compliance with Washington State Bill 5123 for this safety-sensitive position.
