Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant position (Back Office) provides a friendly, compassionate, efficient and environment for patients and providers to ensure the highest level of productivity.
They will perform a variety of duties related to patients' assessment, treatment, reevaluation, and discharge.
This position will take patient vitals, chart procedures, and provider orders and assist in managing patient flow.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Ask questions to collect background story -- leaving notes for providers Review health summary with the patient, ensure all the info is accurate Take the patient's vitals and record Close the loop and ensure that all follow-ups are handled per clinical process and in a timely manner. Confirm patients' current pharmacy preference and update in Experity. Process any Rx Order Labs and imaging Ensure all Dx codes are properly added to lab and imaging orders Document every interaction appropriately and timely Assist our in-clinic providers with support during exams, procedures Chaperone for patient exams. Adhere to sterile technique. Process specimens appropriately. Set up exam rooms with the correct instruments prior to patient rooming. Act as a pack with fellow MAs, front office staff, and NPs/MDs to ensure the proper clinic flow. Leverage providers with signals if they are running behind / clinic is backed up. Communicate and collaborate with your team if there are delays to ensure a high-quality patient experience. Monitor the schedule to know who has checked in and respond in a timely manner. Uphold the clinical guidelines for Phlebotomy. Perform difficult sticks regularly, and with confidence. Leverage providers to review labs, and leverage providers in delivering results to the patient. Follow the system for Lab review as established by the Medical Director. Ensure that all labs are closed out each day. Maintain the order and spotlessness of the clinic. Maintain standards for cleanliness.
Qualifications and Skills: Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited school/program. Excellent, top-notch customer service skills High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a medical receptionist/customer service role. Knowledge of multi-line phone systems. Proficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology including electronic recordkeeping. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a positive tone and welcoming body language. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
Preferred Experience: 2 years of experience as a medical assistant. Confident with blood draws. Previously performed COVID testing.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: Work is performed in a medical office setting. Physical demands of position: must be able to sit for long periods of time, must have the manual dexterity to work computer systems and keyboard. Must be able to have face-to-face conversations with patients and staff. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Pay Range: $21.00 - $21.25 per hour
