Preparing patients from beginning of their visit, vitals, charting, specimen collection, setting up injections, escorting patients to the check out desk at the end of their visit._*Responsibilities include:*_* Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.* Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout.* Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.* Prepares and sets up supplies for daily injections, cleans & sterilizes instruments.* Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart (presenting x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam).* Prepares patients charts by recording reason for visit and related patient information for practitioner review; may refer to last progress notes.* Records vitals as per Physician's request.* Assist with examinations and treatment of patients as directed.* Handles instruments and materials to doctors as directed.* Covers MED phones, email set up for voicemails, sending messages to appropriate doctors and staff.* Adheres to infection control standards including, but not limited to, hand hygiene, use of PPE, and equipment disinfection/sterilization.* Requesting reports and results from referring doctors and laboratories.* Prepare labels and requisitions for laboratory testing.*Marginal Duties:** Preparing disability forms, work/school notes, surgery packets and surgical authorizations.* Collaborates with members of the health care team in coordinating and implementing plans for patient care.* Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and materials; stocks assigned rooms.* Performs variety of other clerical functions such as filing medical records, answering phones, scheduling appointments; and assuring efficient flow of patients through the suite, etc._*Candidate Requirements:*_* *Certified Medical Assistant or has graduated from a Medical Assisting school (diploma), REQUIRED** *CPR certification required** Minimum of 1 year experience in the medical field; orthopedic experience preferred* Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes preferred* Must have knowledge and follow O.S.H.A. standards.* General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.* Must be able to handle a busy work environment* Excellent communication, organizations, and prioritization skills* Possess the strong ability to interact professionally and courteously with patients, staff including physicians and PAs, vendors, and other members of our community\*\*This job description is subject to revision at the discretion of the company.\*\**\* The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
