Job Summary
Performs selected medical assistant and clerical duties that assist in care for clinic patients following established standards, practices, and competency.
Works collaboratively with other clinic staff to solve practice-related problems.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Sterilizes medical equipment according to policy.
Follows correct procedures for handling and disposing of bio-hazardous infectious waste.
Provided back-up help for front desk personnel. This may include answering telephone, scheduling and cancelling appointments, and scheduling consult patients.
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with an Associate's degree or diploma.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or
National Registration as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT); or
National Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association and Medical Assistant diploma
Work Schedule
Day shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Occasional weekend and holiday Urgent Care rotation
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$19.25 - $27.00 per hour
