Medical Director Behavioral Health Psychiatrist

Our client is the premier provider of mental health, substance use and intellectual disability services in Central Virginia.
Their mission is to support and promote the health, independence and self-worth of individuals and families in Central Virginia by providing a continuum of community-based treatment, prevention, early intervention, and aftercare services for persons affected by mental health, intellectual disabilities, substance use and co-occurring disorders.

They have an immediate opening for a newly created position of Medical Director.

Position Summary
The Medical Director provides oversight of psychiatric services for adults and children, ensuring quality care in accordance with licensing regulations and best practice standards of care.
The Medical Director develops policies and procedures to ensure quality care and compliance.
The Medical Director also provides direct and indirect supervision of psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
In addition, the Medical Director will provide direct client care approximately 50% of his/her work schedule.
The Medical Director reports to the CEO.

Required Education and Experience:
Doctor of Medicine and completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program and board-certified.
Five (5) years of experience as a psychiatrist with some previous experience supervising providers.
Preference will be given to candidates with two (2) years of experience in a management-related position within a behavioral health work environment and at least one (1) year in a public mental health system.
All candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
