Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center is the only multi-specialty referral hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. We currently have specialists in surgery, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, and ophthalmology, as well as an in-house blood bank and a certified rehabilitation practitioner. We are also adjacent to Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care which is southern Nevada's only 24-hour emergency and critical care facility with board-certified Criticalists. Our hospital is located between the Las Vegas strip and Summerlin, a beautiful community at the base of the Red Rock conservation area.

Position Summary:The Medical Director at Veritas Veterinary Partners is a visionary leader and an integral part of our practice's success. Combining clinical expertise with strategic insight, the Medical Director balances hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities. This role drives clinical excellence, mentors the medical team, and ensures Veritas' standards for quality, collaboration, and compassion are upheld. The Medical Director spends a minimum of 50% of their time providing direct patient care, making this role both impactful and deeply connected to the core of veterinary medicine.

Beyond daily responsibilities, the Medical Director seeks to advance the practice through strategic initiatives that enhance services and promote sustainable growth. By identifying opportunities to expand the practice's offerings and improve efficiency, the Medical Director helps to shape the hospital's future and its role within the Veritas network.Core Operational Responsibilities:The Medical Director works closely with the Hospital Director to oversee clinical operations, quality standards, and team development. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director (operations issues) & Chief Medical Officer (medical practice issues), this position ensures medical protocols, patient care, and compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the overall success of the hospital.
Clinical Operations and Quality AssuranceLead the implementation of medical protocols, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance.Regularly review and update clinical procedures, working with the team to uphold consistency and excellence in every aspect of patient care.Financial Oversight and Budget ManagementCollaborate with the Hospital Director to set and manage the hospital's clinical budget, balancing quality care with operational efficiency.Monitor and analyze clinical KPIs to support data-driven decisions and identify opportunities for growth or improvement.Recruiting and Retaining Veterinary TalentPartner with the Talent Acquisition team to attract and retain veterinarians who align with Veritas' mission and values.Oversee onboarding, mentorship, and development programs that build a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and professional growth.Client and Patient ExperienceSet standards for client interaction, communication, and service excellence, ensuring a welcoming, empathetic, and trust-filled experience.Address client concerns and feedback, creating a culture where clients feel valued and confident in the quality of care their pets receive.Compliance and Regulatory AdherenceEnsure adherence to all clinical, safety, and regulatory requirements, maintaining Veritas' reputation for excellence in patient care.Conduct regular audits and inspections, working with the team to identify and address any areas needing improvement.Key Qualifications:DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary school; board certification in a specialty is a plus.Must hold a valid veterinary license and be in good standing within the jurisdiction of the practice.Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in a specialty or emergency setting.Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, with strong mentoring, team-building, and conflict-resolution skills.Exceptional communication abilities with clients, referring veterinarians, and staff.A strategic mindset with the capacity to identify growth opportunities, enhance patient outcomes, and improve operational efficiency.Commitment to upholding high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.Ability to dedicate at least 50% of work hours to direct patient care.Veritas Veterinary Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
