White's Pet Hospital is seeking a Medical Director (Managing Veterinarian) to come on-board as a team member and leader for our practice! Sabbatical - Buy-In Opportunity! $75,000 in bonuses! White's Pet Hospital has been providing care for our clients and their pets in the Santa Barbara area for over 100 years! We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to partner with our team as a leader of our multi-doctor practice. Our team consistently strives for a higher degree of medicine and care, and we are excited to work with a likeminded and motivated leader.
We understand the impact you are going to have on this hospital and the community; thus, we are excited to offer the following: $75,000 in bonuses (based on experience level)$25,000 sign on or relocation bonus$50,000 retention bonus4 week sabbatical for every 5 years of serviceBuy-In OpportunityMDVM annual leadership bonus as well as additional bonus incentives tied to hospital performance.Full benefits package including 401k with matchDedicated CE days and allowanceAbout our practice: 100-year history of care in the communityWe have an incredible support staff that offers 2-1 tech to doctor ratio.We are closed on Sundays and most of our DVM's work 4 days per weekPaper light practice3 doctor team that values communication and collaborationBrand new GE UltrasoundNew dental machines/scalersNew surgical lightingDigital x-rayLarge surgery suiteVisiting Board Certified InternistBoarding facility onsiteJob Summary: Providing medical leadership for the hospital, managing Associate Veterinarians, and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicineResponsible for creating an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine and exceptional client service are delivered.In partnership with the Hospital Manager, the Medical Director is responsible for the financial performance and general operations of the hospital under the guidance of Divisional Leadership.The Hospital Manager and Medical Director are responsible for cultivating a supportive and collaborative team environment.Advancing Medical Care: Oversees surgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate estimates, and client communication and educationAnswers client questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical proceduresProvides oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventoryEstablishes medical protocolsOversees transfer of medical cases from doctor to doctorMinimizes waste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventoriesLeading Staff and Practice: Participates in the recruiting and interviewing process for doctors, and when appropriate general staff membersMonitors doctor performance and productionDevelops and monitors hospital-specific client compliance protocols and proceduresParticipates in technician appraisal and medical counseling sessionsEnsures all medical staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new graduatesSupports the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM/VMD licensureFinancial Responsibilities: Drives revenue and hospital contribution growth, which includes managing all hospital expensesAssists in the preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget and capital budgetMonitors key financial reportsGrowing the Practice: Drives patient visits and encourages community involvementEmbraces change and supports innovative programs within the hospitalMonitors client service, marketing, and NVA growth initiativesSeeks out ways to innovate operational practices that improve the growth of the practiceAbout Santa Barbara, CA: Santa Barbara is best known for its small-town beach vibe, breathtaking sunsets, outdoor activities, wine tasting, and world-class restaurants. Qualifications: Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program.
