Medical Director/Physician

Come work for MBI in a supportive multidisciplinary team-based practice where we focus on occupational medicine only. No urgent care or chronic pain management! Medicine for Business and Industry (MBI) clinics staff physicians, advanced practitioners & physical therapists at each location to provide comprehensive care to our patients. We also offer chiropractic, massage therapy, and counseling services in house, so our medical providers are fully supported in their care of the injured worker. Our EMR allows for easy efficient charting to keep your attention focused on the patient. We use a sports medicine model approach to treating patients, with a focus on conservative rehabilitation of work injuries. MBI currently has 30 locations in Colorado, Arizona, California and Nevada with additional states and opportunities coming in the near future. Successful candidates come from various medical backgrounds including Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Sports Medicine, or Orthopedics.

Summary:

Working in coordination with the other members of the Center Leadership Team and under Direction of the State Medical Director, the Center Medical Director shall deliver the highest quality healthcare in an efficient, affordable, and caring manner. The Center Medical Director drives daily center execution following the industrial athlete model and is responsible for the assigned clinic's daily medical functions including supervision of Advanced Practitioners. This is a full-time clinical position with little administrative responsibility.

Job Functions:
Provides healthcare to patients both in clinic and via tele-medicine according to the established principles of clinical practice and the current organizational plan or need.
Provides supervision of any Advanced Practice Provider (APP) at the Physician's clinic location, including medical record review/oversight, direct supervision of clinical practice, and performance feedback reviews.
Perform complete history and physical exams including all body systems, vision, hearing, and/or electrocardiograms for the purpose of determining capacity to safely perform specified job functions.
Provide medical opinion regarding job accommodations if needed to safely perform specified job functions.
Review and interpret X-rays
Perform Fit for Duty evaluations
Evaluate and manage the following conditions:
Common occupational musculoskeletal injuries
Work-related injuries to the head
Work-related injuries to the chest or abdomen, with the possibility of hernias.
Work-related lacerations, wounds, burns, and rashes
Work-related eye injuries
Treatment of non-displaced uncomplicated fractures, including interpreting radiographs, splinting, and orthopedic referral when appropriate.
Work Environment

Sustainable schedule allowing time to perform detailed patient assessments, communicate with the employer, and communicate with your treatment team.
Collaborative relationship among all disciplines including medical, physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, and counseling.
On site Xray, procedure room, and slit lamp available
In house physiatrist available for referral
Developed specialist referral network
Dedicated center administrator to assist with operational tasks
Training platform to develop occupational medicine skill set
Leadership/People Development:

Leader of the Medical Center, alongside the Center Administrator. Provides Center's clinical and quality oversight. Identifies clinical improvement opportunities and works with clinical leadership to improve.
Leverages clinical guidance for resolving provider quality issues.
Attends and co-leads weekly Clinic Leadership Team "CLT" meetings, 15 minutes once weekly.
Requirements:

MD/DO
Occupational Medicine experience preferred, but we are willing to train otherwise qualified candidates with experience in UC, FP, IM, ER, Sports Medicine, or Ortho
MBI to cover expenses for certification.
FMCSA certified for DOT exams preferred, required within 90 days of hire.
Current state licensure (or in process)
Current DEA licensure
Excellent communication skills
Computer Skills and Electronic Medical Records system experience.
Good organizational and time management skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Spanish/English bilingual a plus
