About The Position **Job Title:** Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Direct Hire **Job Specialty:** Laboratory **Job Duration:** Permanent **Shift:** Days, rotating weekends **Guaranteed Hours:** 72 hours per two weeks **Experience:** 1 year of experience preferred **License:** Registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician with ASCP or equivalent **Certifications:** BLS (AHA) recommended **Must-Have:** - Completed a training program in an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology - Associate's Degree preferred **Job Description:** - Perform and interpret all diagnostic testing available in the clinical laboratory, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, immunology, immunohematology, and basic STAT microbiology. - Possess working phlebotomy knowledge and competent skills for all age groups. - Responsible for achieving an 80% or better average score on proficiency surveys as assigned. - Perform and monitor quality control on all testing, troubleshoot issues, and document corrective actions. - Carry out preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled, with proper tracking and documentation. - Maintain yearly competence through study, training videos, in-service, case studies, and one-on-one training. - Monitor and document all reagent tracking, including receipt, usage, and expiration. - Utilize two methods of patient identification for blood collection and processing. - Apply sound judgment and work independently while interpreting and applying guidelines. - Establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships with all staff members. - Must be able to meet time constraints for diagnostic testing and remain calm under pressure. - Rotate weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed. - Abide by all relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, and compliance programs. - Maintain necessary licenses and certifications. - Work with biomedical equipment, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. - Ensure a safe environment, recognizing hazards and adhering to safety standards. - Possess mental and physical health to handle stressful/emergency situations and maintain patient confidentiality. - Environment involves indoor settings, exposure to chemical and biological hazards with provided protective clothing. **Physical Demands:** - Ability to vary physical position for comfort. - Lift and handle supplies with safe lifting practices. - Perform tasks involving bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation. **Benefits:** - Full employee coverage paid by the employer, commencing the first day of the month following the date of hire. - Tuition assistance available for obtaining MLS, with a new wage scale upon completion. 9441506EXPPLAT Job Requirements Required for Onboarding BLS - AHA Core Competency Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam About Cynet Health Your travel adventure begins here.
