Is This Role Right for You?
In this position, you'll provide crucial administrative support to patients, colleagues, and referral sources by coordinating and managing front office activities. If you have a background in administration, strong computer skills, and a passion for customer service, this role could be perfect for you. Typical responsibilities include:
Scheduling appointments
Validating insurance and payment authorization
Inputting claims and processing payments
Performing account collections and billing research
Responding to telephone inquiries
Your Impact
Schedule patient appointments efficiently
Create and maintain patient charts and records
Scan, file, and ensure the accuracy of patient documents
Manage incoming phone calls with professionalism
Obtain insurance authorizations and provide financial counseling
Post over-the-counter (OTC) payments
Conduct daily document research using an electronic health/medical record system
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Less than 1 year of experience in customer service, administration, or a related field
Valid driver's license (or eligibility to obtain one) meeting our Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures
Preferred Qualifications and Experiences
1-2 years of experience with electronic health/medical record systems (preferably NextGen and/or OnBase)
Knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payer, state, and federal plans, including coding, billing, and reimbursement protocols
Associate's degree
Ability to type 40 correct words per minute
At least 2 years of experience with computer and office equipment (MS Office, email, automated billing systems, etc.)
Basic administrative math and accounting skills
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; occasionally bend or twist
Regularly talk and hear, both in person and by telephone
Use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms, including overhead
Lift up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
