Overview National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Medical Planner to join either their San Diego or Los Angeles office. In this role, you will be a leader and an integral part of the healthcare team, creating places that will enhance all aspects of the patient experience. The studio is comprised of a collective group of architects, engineers, planners, and interior designers who thrive on working together to create holistic designs for our healthcare, corporate, and higher education clients. The firm has 11 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects. Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award. Responsibilities Possesses ability and exposure to program and plan healthcare facilities and collaborates with user groups, departments, and hospital administration. Works with Principal in the development and analysis of the client's building program to clearly communicate with the project team for all project phases. Works closely with doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel to reach consensus on concepts to address space needs. Demonstrates credible knowledge of current healthcare planning and programming concepts. Conducts research and analyses of space utilization, determines space requirements for expanding, and creates solutions to meet evolving needs. Works closely with project managers, contractors, and consultants to implement design concepts through project completion. Represents the Principal in maintaining positive client relationships. Contributes to and assists Principals as appropriate in the marketing of assigned projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews. Utilizes past experience and technical knowledge to monitor the quality of drawings produced, coaching as appropriate. Keeps current on new methodologies related to healthcare design, planning, sustainability, LEAN, and evidence-based design principles. Works with Healthcare Practice Group leaders in the development and implementation of annual goals and objectives. Utilizes expertise and shares knowledge with colleagues and mentors junior staff members on healthcare planning concepts. Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Bachelor's degree in architecture, Master's preferred LEED accreditation preferred 8-10 years of mid- to large healthcare project experience and medical planning Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and other industry accepted software as well as expertise with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite products is needed Please Note: Delays may be experienced if uploading portfolio pdf.
