Job Description
Our busy dermatology practice is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team!
This position should be flexible to fit the dynamic needs of the clinic on a daily basis.
Duties: Patient scheduling, reminder calls, and follow-up appointment scheduling Checking patients in, verifying insurance, as well as updating patient demographics in EMR Understanding and ability to check insurance referrals, authorizations, eligibility, deductibles, out-of-pocket and co-insurance details Filing, faxing, scanning, general clerical work Knowledge and desire to navigate practice website and follow up patient inquiries from website Communicating with patients via phone as well as office email Qualifications: The ability to understand and differentiate between patient insurances; commercial plans vs Medicare Have integrity and accuracy when entering and reporting numbers, names and results Must have strong computer and technology skills Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with patients, providers and coworkers Maintain a professional presence Demonstrate patient advocacy and conflict resolution skills for patients of all ages and backgrounds Positive attitude to contribute to the existing environment in the office(s) Punctuality is a must; must have reliable transportation Must be dependable and flexible during clinic hours Must be a team player, able and willing to follow directions and eager to learn Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required Experience: 1+ years in a Medical Administrative position is required Pay: Pay starts at $20.00 and increases with experience Qualifications Additional Information
