The primary role of the Medical Sales Manager is to develop and execute a sales and marketing plan to increase the Waldmann/Derungs medical lighting business in the North American market.
Sales, strategic planning and market development are the key roles of this position.
This requires a thorough knowledge of the medical lighting market, the Waldmann/Derungs medical lighting products and of our competitor's products. The Medical Sales Manager must be persuasive and tenacious with approaches and methods that will convince potential customers to do business with Waldmann/Derungs.
He/she must develop relationships with new customers, help to set sales targets and provide support that will continually improve customer relationships.
The Medical Sales Manager is also required to grow and retain existing accounts by setting sales targets and presenting new solutions and services to clients.
He/she will also work very closely with the USA sales team and Derungs on new product development for the North American market and help determine how existing products can be designed or modified to better suit our customers' needs.
Responsibilities Generate sales in the USA and Canada through predetermined sales channels to GPs, clinics, hospitals, elder care facilities, veterinarians, etc.Support and develop the existing sales partners (REPs, Distributors, and OEMs).Develop a complete knowledge of competitor products, strengths, weaknesses, prices, terms and distribution channels.
Research and analyze market information on existing and new markets.Represent the Company at relevant medical trade shows & events.Assist with development of literature, email campaigns, advertising, promotions, etc.Provide a yearly business plan, sales forecast and expense budget.Work with the Regional Sales Managers on opportunities in their territory.Become a functional expert on medical lighting and the company expert regarding the latest U.S. and global trends in medical lighting.Become an active member of the relevant medical associations.Provide training for sales partners and the U.S. sales team on new & existing products.Duties and responsibilities may change, and new ones may be added, at any time with or without advance notice. Qualifications Must have at least 2-3 years of medical equipment sales or comparable experience in the North American market.
Have a strong set of strategic sales skills and market development experience.Have a strong technical aptitude.Be a strong networker and communicator.Be a positive, motivating team player.Have a competitive, self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit.Have a high energy level.Able to travel a minimum of 50 – 60% of the time (including occasional international travel for 2-3 weeks at a time).Experienced in multiple sales channels.Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications or a relevant field of study.Language: English is required, German is desired (or the interest/ability to learn).Be authorized to work in the U.S.A. and hold a valid passport and driver's license.
