This is a full time, salaried, field-based, remote role tied to the Chesterbrook, PA office reporting to the Medical Director, Lead, US Thoracic Oncology. The territory for this position will cover: Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio Ideal candidate location: in or near Chicago, IL JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Science Liaison, US Thoracic Lead (Central) is a full-time, key position within US Medical Affairs. The MSL will be responsible for the efforts, initiatives and activities of a US MSL team to ensure execution of individual strategic territory pre-launch and post launch work in line with company objectives. The MSL will serve as a coach, mentor and play a key role in the development of the US MSL team.
The MSL, US Thoracic Lead will work closely with cross-functional partners including but not limited to R&D, Clinical Operations, Clinical Affairs and the USBLT. Clinical, scientific and technical expertise will be maintained through participation in scientific trainings, review of scientific literature, attendance at assigned medical congresses and self-learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in leading and supporting the medical affairs strategy for launching TTFields in NSCLC through a field based thoracic oncology MSL team.Play a significant role in developing and executing a strategic territory & KOL engagement plan for identified key stakeholders/Institutions in the NSCLC space.Work closely with the thoracic medical directors, the USMT and Global Medical Affairs Team to ensure alignment in strategies and communication plans.Support the Clinical Affairs and Operations organizations, as feasible, in Novocure's sponsored research.Identify scientific/medical gaps within the NSCLC space and support the development of evidence generation plans to address.Communicate internally field competitive intelligence and key scientific insights from MSL team.Responsible for efforts to recruit, develop and retain talented employees and effective staffing of the region.Coach, mentor and develop a field-based MSL team to achieve corporate objectives.Evaluate MSL performance and training needs and support MSL development in their role and aspired career pathway.Serve as a field resource for the MSL team in developing and maintaining successful relationships with thought leaders, clinical investigators, and other providers in the scientific community.Be a critical resource for the in-office medical affairs teams by articulating insights gathered in the field and help strategize action plans and impactful dissemination.Support the MSL team in working with Investigators developing investigator initiated research of TTFields, inovitro and/or Novocure investigational products.Attend and provide scientific support of US Medical Affairs activities and scientific sessions at relevant regional and national congress meetings and communicate insights internally.Serve as an internal scientific resource for training and educational support.Effectively manage change and serve as a positive example for the MSL team.Demonstrate a high level of competency in planning, influencing and motivating others in team building.Ensure an environment of trust, transparency and accountability within the regional MSL team.QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE: Advanced degree with scientific/clinical background preferred with at least 5 years' experience in a field medical or similar role.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills.Demonstrated skills in leading and mentoring others.Good judgment, ability to adapt and change in a shifting environment.A strategic, passionate, self-starter who takes initiative.Ability to work independently and function effectively as a team member.Excellent problem solving skills.OTHER: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.Ability to travel up to 60% time.ABOUT NOVOCURE: Our vision
