*Medical Technologist*At National Staffing Solutions, we have the privilege and honor of working with dedicated healthcare professionals that make a positive impact in aiding those needing healthcare services across the U.S. every day.It is our passion, drive and integrity that enables us to continue our focus in assisting remarkable healthcare professionals like yourself in solidifying the best career opportunities available to you.We're currently seeking a *Medical Technologist *to join our amazing team.*Details of the Opening:** Anticipated start date: *ASAP** Salary range: *$35/hour** Schedule: *Full Time, 1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Overtime on an as-needed basis, 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. – Midnight**Daily Range of Responsibilities:** Performs a full range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology according to established protocols* Evaluates the suitability of the specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable; prepares specimens for analysis; ensuring that the physiologic states of the specimen properties are maintained* Selects, performs, evaluates, and monitors the performance of test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established protocols; recognizes and reacts to indicators of malfunction; locates and implements corrections* Conducts quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products and maintains proper records for quality control reports* Calibrates, standardizes, adjusts and maintains instruments on which trained; verifies correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks and monitoring; identifies the cause of common problems and makes simple repairs* Evaluates the validity of data in relation to the test system and accepted assay procedures; correlates quantitative data with patient data (i.e., history, medications) to verify results* Performs additional tests to clarify or confirm abnormal patient results; recognizes abnormal results that require immediate attention by the physician and reports them directly* Responsible for the generation of laboratory results from the work area into the laboratory computer system* Edit and verify results recorded into the computer system* Stock and maintain specialized supplies used in the work area* Accession and receive samples into VA laboratory information system package for in house testing or send outs to reference laboratories* Performs phlebotomy to obtain patient specimens for laboratory testing including blood cultures and compatibility samples*What You'll Need to Qualify for this Role:** Degree – Bachelor's degree* Education – Graduate from a medical technology program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS)* Certification – Current certification/registration as determined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT)* Experience: Minimum one-year experience within the past 5 yearsSubmit your resume to us today for consideration of the *Medical Technologist* opening and one of our dedicated recruiters will be in touch within 24 business hours.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
