As a Medication Nursing Assistant, you will work closely with nursing staff to provide quality care and assist RiverMead residents in administering medications. Your responsibilities will include accurately preparing and administering medications, documenting patient information, and ensuring patient safety. LNA shift differentials: 2nd shift = $2.00 per hour 3rd shift = $2.50 per hour Weekends = $1.50 per hour (Friday 5PM-Sunday midnight)
Responsibilities: Provides personal care services. Assists in administering medications to stable patients, as ordered by the licensed practitioner, under the direction of the licensed practitioner/licensed nurse in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as all established nursing policies and procedures. Administers PRN medications after resident is evaluated by licensed nurse and nurse has approved administration of the PRN medication. Follows RiverMead procedures, allowing residents to self-administer medications. Assists licensed nurses in monitoring and documenting all aspects of such self-administration. Promptly notify licensed nurses of any failure of a resident to take any self-administered medication properly. Performs administrative requirements, such as completing forms, reports, charts, etc., and submits these promptly. Participates in developing and implementing resident care plans in collaboration with the nurses, other departments, the residents, and the resident's families. Consult with RN/LPN on nursing problems and interpretation of problems to meet resident needs. Recognizes emergencies and implements appropriate emergency procedures when indicated. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Two years minimum experience. Long-term care is preferred. Successfully Completed nursing assistant and medication nursing assistant courses that meet federal/state requirements. Licensed by the State of New Hampshire as a Nursing Assistant and Medication Nursing Assistant. CPR certification required. Able to follow oral and written instructions and compose short correspondence and notes. Good communication skills. Ability to complete basic math computations. Must be self-directed and dependable.
