DescriptionThe University of Washington (UW), Department of Medicine/Division of Cardiology is currently recruiting 4 general cardiologists to be primarily based at the University of Washington Medical Center- Montlake (UWMC-Montlake), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), South Lake Union (SLU) and/or Eastside Specialty Center (ESC) at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW's Faculty Code Section 24-34. Positions are available effective March 1, 2025 though the specific start date is negotiable.
Outpatient clinic is expected to be at the ESC, HMC, or SLU campuses and inpatient service at either UWMC-Montlake or HMC. If the applicant has expertise in Cardio-oncology, outpatient clinic would be at SLU. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. Teaching will include inpatient attending with Cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents, including bedside and didactic teaching, as well as opportunities in the outpatient clinic and echocardiography labs. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.
Compensation The base salary range will be: $19,166-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include administrative salary supplement (ADS), incentive through UW Physicians practice plan, and other categories that may be applicable, including payments for nights, call, holiday/weekend shift coverage.
The successful candidate must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Cardiovascular disease (or foreign equivalent) by the start date of employment.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
