Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing at our Cedarhurst of Granite City community.
This is a supervisor role and requires prior experience in memory care.
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of quality nursing care in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations while efficiently and effectively leading the care staff team in conjunction with the Director of Nursing In addition, you will promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of each resident and work with the Director of Nursing & Executive Director, as well as other community leadership, and care staff teams to strive to reach the ultimate goal, which is to return the resident to their maximum level of self-care and independence, when possible.
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, working with the Director of Nursing, you will impact the lives of our residents by -Assists Director of Nursing with defining and maintaining the standards of nursing practice within the communityAssists with the oversight of provision of appropriate medications, treatments, and general nursing services according to the resident's care plan and physician directed ordersAssists in the development and maintenance of in-service education programs for nursing staffConducts and participates in daily rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing careMay be required to be "on-call" periodically or as specifically needed by communityParticipates as a member of the community's management team in planning, policy formation and administrative decision-making, with particular emphasis on the community's care giver and nursing servicesAssumes responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in his/her absenceProvide nursing coverage and assistance when needed.Assess residents and potential residents for appropriate levels of care.Manage and coordinate the work of all nursing and care staff, communicating pertinent resident health and safety information.Must remain flexible and have the ability to work weekends as Manager on Duty, when necessary.To become an Assistant Director of Nursing you will need -Current state license for LPN or RN is required at all timesOne year of nursing experience in a senior care community with proven leadership and organizational skills required, but 3+ preferred.Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing preferredWorking knowledge of best person-directed care practices for seniors, including those with dementia preferred.Must possess a current CPR certification at all timesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven experience in staffing, leading, developing, and retaining a strong resident care team.Ability to oversee the delivery of quality care and services to our residents in compliance with the regulations pertaining to care plans and resident assessments.Must possess knowledge of state regulations regarding senior living care, as well as a solid understanding of opportunities and limits of other levels of care within senior living.
