Job Summary: Opportunity for a youth-focused mental health therapist to join our comprehensive multidisciplinary team to support the mental and behavioral health of the adolescent patient population at a state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric hospital in Indianapolis, IN. The 159-bed facility provides evaluation and treatment for patients with complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric illness and high acuity needs through intermediate to long-term hospitalization. Patients are provided with evidence-based and holistic care in order to facilitate their transition to the most appropriate and least-restrictive treatment setting. The therapist will be tasked with providing individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and crisis management to patients with histories of complex trauma, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, and the onset of severe mental illness. Additionally, the therapist will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based treatment recommendations and promote healing. Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to) Provide individual therapy and family therapy (as needed) for a caseload of 10-15 patients. Provide evidence-based, recovery oriented therapeutic and psychoeducational interventions to patients in group format. Maintain a therapeutic alliance with the patient and family/caregivers. Participate in clinical treatment team meetings. Provide education formally and informally to staff members in order to facilitate optimal patient care. Complete documentation of all aspects of patient contact per facility, departmental, and HIPPA guidelines. Provide supervision to practicum students as applicable. Ensure patient involvement and participation in treatment planning and implementation. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice Minimum Qualifications Current clinical license in Indiana required (Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)). Background/experience/training in treating adolescents with complex psychiatric presentations including trauma, mood, and behavioral components leading to safety concerns. Knowledge of evidence-based counseling and therapeutic interventions and ability to implement these based on individual patient needs. Ability to engage collaboratively with both internal multidisciplinary team members and external team members (Department of Child Services, Juvenile Probation Department, etc.). Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to complete clinical documentation in a timely manner. Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the practice of mental health/social work in Indiana. Knowledge and consistent implementation of professional ethics guidelines as delineated by the American Counseling Association/National Association of Social Workers. Ability to effectively utilize hospital technology.
