Job Summary:
This position will perform assembly, fabrication and weld preparation of Arrowhead Products metal ducting systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Thorough understanding and proper use of air tools, sanding discs, scotch-brite, flapper wheels, drum rolls, for polishing parts to present to final inspection.
Thorough understanding of disk sanders, belt sanders, scribe tools, Quackenbush cutters, hose clamps, calipers, micrometers, scales, tin snips, riveting equipment for sizing metal components to precise dimensions.
Understanding of the use of weld plugs.
Will have thorough understanding of the effect of heat as it pertains to welded metal assemblies.
Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards.
Will provide guidance and job knowledge to Metal Fabricator 1 and Metal Fabricator 2.

Specialist level will require the following: Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
Special requirement for Space Products: Capable of safely handling large, heavy parts.
Capable of handling large, heavy fixtures and tooling.
Must pass crane safety training.
Provide guidance and job knowledge to other personnel assigned to the space department.
Able to operate trim tooling for large ducting.
Able read Pi-tapes and large scale measuring equipment.
Education and Experience: Must have successfully met/completed all requirements for Metal Fabricator 1 and Metal Fabricator 2.
HS Diploma or its equivalent; previous experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Previous sheet metal fabrication work experience preferred.
Minimum 2 year requirement in Metal Fabricator 2 prior to bid eligibility.
*Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed in higher levels.
***The date an employee bids into Metal Fabricator 1 shall be the seniority date used for progression into a position in Metal Fabricator 3 Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must understand fabrication/fitting techniques; taking into account print dimensions after welding.
Must have complete knowledge of the effects of heat on parts in resistance-spot welding, GTAW-seam welding operations and manual GTAW processes.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; including production control and other production/engineering documentation.
Must be able to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, scales, height gages, etc.
Understanding of procedures and specifications pertinent to polishing, cleaning, and assembly of metal parts per company standard MEP1000-97.
Ability to share knowledge all lower progressions on the manufacturing of all sub-assemblies, duct halves, and top assemblies.
Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
