Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an Entry Level Career Metallurgical Engineer to join our creative team of Material and Process Engineers.
The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control's highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry.
M&P Engineers are involved in every aspect of design and exposed to all materials and processes.
This exciting opportunity will include the following: analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material, protective finishes, electrical components and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.
Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
May review and approve subcontractor material and processing procedures.
Provide Materials & Processes support for missile and canister efforts, material selection and material testing in conjunction with using Microsoft Office tools.
Tasks will include material evaluation of both missile and canister components and subassemblies, evaluation of material incompatibilities and evaluating and creating material protection requirements.
Tasks will also include reviewing and signing off on drawings as well as creating M&P support documentation.
Commonly interfaces with multiple Engineering disciplines, Engineering laboratories and other functions within LMMFC.
Basic Qualifications:
-Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain Department of Defense Secret Clearance
-Candidate MUST have the ability to travel and be willing to work off site as needed for assignments
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering or Material Science Engineering.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
