Metals Buyer

Position: Metal Buyer    
Job Location: Hugo, MN
Compensation: $18-$23/hour
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri
Job Details: Source and purchase various metals for our production processes, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to obtain advantageous terms and conditions Monitor metal market trends, including prices, availability, and new technologies, to make informed purchasing decisions Coordinate with internal teams to determine metal requirements and develop strategies to optimize material usage and cost efficiency Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure quality and reliability of materials Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to metal purchases with suppliers and internal stakeholders Manage relationships with existing vendors and develop new supplier partnerships to expand our sourcing options Collaborate with the logistics team to facilitate smooth transportation and delivery of metal materials Maintain accurate records of metal purchases, costs, and inventory levels Stay updated on industry regulations and certifications related to metals sourcing and procurement Applicant Requirements: Preferred not Required Proven ability to negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors Detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and resolve purchasing issues Familiarity with industry regulations and certifications related to metals sourcing and procurement Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Comfortable with occasional travel for supplier visits and industry conferences
