TheOPPORTUNITY
Leverage your industry expertise and join our expanding team in thisMiddle Market Underwriter role!This commercial underwriter will manage an assigned book of business, containing workers compensation, commercial package, business auto, and inland marine lines of business for construction industry clients.
The success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve.This hybrid role will work in our Raleigh office a minimum of two days with the flexibility of working from home three days a week.
YourWORKas aMiddle Market Underwriterwill make a differenceas you:
Review new business submissions and makes final risk acceptability and pricingdecisions on all applicants within authority of $150,000 account premium. For those risks beyond the underwriter's authority, the underwriter analyzes the risk and makes appropriate recommendations to management.
Review and make pricing and coverage decisions on renewals within designatedauthority
Order and review loss control surveys and takes appropriate action based on survey results andrecommendations
Monitor underwriting quality and pricing for the entire book of business as well as at the agencylevel
Keep abreast of changing rules and laws pertaining to commercialinsurance
Other duties as assigned
Skillsto get the JOB done RIGHT:
BA/BS Degree preferred with at least 3-5 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, or an equivalent combination of education andexperience
Good working knowledge of the technical aspects of each line of business
Demonstrated ability to managea large territory size, maintaining profitability and high levels of customer service andquality
Strong PC proficiency
Excellent customer service and communication skills
