Monitor for Irving A Robbins Middle School
Position is 5.5 hours per day, school year. Benefits include life insurance, long-term disability, and PTO. General Description: The Monitor engages in a variety of monitoring activities to provide order and safety throughout the school. The Monitor is responsible for supervising student behavior and engaging students in restorative learning in partnership with the school's administrators. The Monitor also supports initiatives related to positive school culture and climate. Qualifications: Candidate should hold a high school diploma or college level degree. Candidate should demonstrate the ability to communicate with students while maintaining order with large student groups. Consideration will be given to the following

Ability to control order with groups of students Ability to control order with visitors to the school building and follow all visitor sign in policies and procedures Ability to follow all safety and security policies and procedures Ability to present a respectful demeanor to school community members and visitors Ability to make sound judgment Reports To: School Principal or Assigned Staff Member Salary: $19.40-$23.42/hour depending on experience Duties and Responsibilities Maintain student order in assigned areas Prepare reports, as required Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff Maintain all visitor policies and procedures Monitor buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and secure school environment Demonstrate ability to communicate with visitors, students and all members of the school community Demonstrate respect for students, visitors and all members of the school community Make sound judgements and have good problem solving skills Other related duties, as assigned The Board of Education will not make employment decisions (including decisions related to hiring, assignment, compensation, promotion, demotion, disciplinary action and termination) on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, alienage, ancestry, disability (including pregnancy), genetic information, veteran status or gender identity or expression, except in the case of a bona fide occupational qualification.
