Job Summary:
The Teen Program Manager oversees all programming for youth grades 6th through 12th during program hours. Successful programming includes academic success, workforce development, and healthy lifestyles.
Duties & Responsibilities: Oversees effective planning, preparation, and implementation of fun, purposeful youth programs including games and activities, competitions, small group programs, service projects, and special programming.Creates, communicates, and implements program schedule for after school and summer programs including athletics, arts, academic reinforcement, and workforce development.Manage complex behaviors with youth with a trauma-informed approach, as well as lead and train club staff on appropriate behavior management in their program spaces.Cultivate relationships with member families and act as primary contact for parents and caregivers.Promote Club programming to meet youths' needs; develop growth in number of youth served, programs offered, and opportunities available to Club members.Trains, implements, and supervises safety protocols for club members, staff, and the community.Supervise and support team members within specific program areas to support needs and Club growth goals, including training staff on program fundamentals, room organization, and time management.Manage scheduling and timecards for direct reports.Connect and engage with the community for teen outreach efforts.Ability to uphold the organization's mission and values.Other duties as required.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.Minimum of 2 years' experience in a role overseeing school-aged children in a group supervision setting.Knowledge of youth development strategies; must have sound judgment regarding safety.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in both small and large group settings.Ability to adapt, prioritize, and multitask.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Leadership, Board Members, community members, and other related agencies.Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, specifically Microsoft Office suite.Reliable transportation, safe driving record, active driver's license, and automobile insurance.Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist, and ability to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20lbs.
