MIG/TIG Welder Overview The position involves welding sheet metal assemblies with and without fixtures. The operator must produce good quality parts while working to an hourly production rate. Grinding and packing are also required. Other miscellaneous tasks throughout the shop may be required depending on the workload. Adheres to the QMS requirements.
Responsibilities Set up and maintain paint operating systems, portable spray systems, air compressors, and associated appliances. Work in a team environment. Produce high-quality painting of all products with baked and air-dry enamel or equivalent paint products. Handle all hazardous materials as prescribed by law and manufacturers' instructions. Follow all local, state, and company policies regarding the proper handling of paint and hazardous waste; logging information as required. Maintain attention to detail and exceptional quality control. Work from drawings, specifications, worksheets, color codes, mixing charts, tables, verbal and written instructions/information. Assist in evaluating new finishing materials and procedures as required. Adhere to the QMS requirements. Qualifications 5 years of previous welding experience in both MIG and TIG across a variety of metals is required. Ability to read prints, weld symbols, and written instructions. Ability to use basic inspection equipment to verify part quality and record inspection data. Ability to lift metal parts to load and unload fixtures or tools. Efficiency in working to a production rate while making good quality parts for an 8-hour shift. Standing all day while welding is common. Robotic welder experience is a plus. Other sheet metal fabrication experience (punch press, turret, laser, spot weld, brakes, Pem, assembly, etc.) is a plus. Pay Rate/Shifts $27 - $35 an Hour (Based on Experience) 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon. - Fri. 3:30 PM - 12 AM, Mon. - Fri.
