Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will utilize your expertise in mining engineering principles and software tools to design and evaluate mine layouts, production schedules, and resource utilization strategies.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, and other stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term mine plans that maximize ore recovery and minimize operational costs.Utilize mine planning software (such as Surpac, MineSight, or similar) to create detailed mine designs, including pit configurations, bench heights, haulage routes, and waste dump locations.Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses to assess the viability of mining projects and evaluate alternative mine plans.Optimize production schedules and sequencing to meet production targets while balancing ore quality, equipment utilization, and workforce requirements.Monitor mine performance and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies in all mine planning activities.Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams during the implementation of mine plans and production schedules.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure.Minimum of 3 years of experience in mine planning and design, preferably in the mining industry.Proficiency in mine planning software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.Strong understanding of mining engineering principles, including open-pit and underground mining methods, mine ventilation, and rock mechanics.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret geological data and engineering specifications.Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.Benefits:Competitive salary.
