Job Description We are looking for a Mining Superintendent - Coal to join the team at HVO. Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Coal Superintendent will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic strategies related to delivering budget requirements. HVO is seeking a Mining Superintendent to ensure the reliable delivery of coal through two operational coal handling plants from the two operational mining areas.
Eligibility Please note that only employees internal to Hunter Valley Operations are eligible to apply for this role.About the Role Provide strong and effective leadership and coaching to a team of Coordinators to influence and focus the direction of production teams including both employees and supervisors.Oversee, plan and implement tasks to optimise production results including maximising CHPP throughput ensuring compliance with coal quality standards, health, safety, environment and community.Support operational and divisional budget requirements in terms of managing resources effectively including monitoring and controlling costs associated.Provide a link between operational superintendents in Mining, CHPP and Maintenance to ensure delivery of the business requirements.Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standards, procedures and processes.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Identify and communicate risks associated with health, safety and environmental impacts.Roster and Location Monday to Friday dayshift rosterBased on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)About You Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams in an open cut environment.Strong knowledge and understanding of coal mining methods including maximising recovery and minimising contamination related to quality and geological constraints.Experience supporting and developing mining supervisors for the purpose of maximising mine productivity, cultural alignment and employee growth and development.A current Open Cut Examiners ticket would be highly regarded.High level of interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels across multiple departments as well as engaging and influencing key external stakeholders.For more information on the role, please contact Ryan McCormack, Mining Manager (South Pit) on ******** .
