Mls - Medical Technologist/Scientist (Ascp/Amt Certified) - 0042-03

Currently seeking Medical Technologists / Medical Lab Scientists with specimen collection/preservation and blood banking experience to work full time in the pathology lab at a veteran care facility in Nashville, TN. Interested candidates will possess at least 1 year of experience in an acute care setting.*Schedule details:** Full time opening with 40 hours per week* 3:30pm-11:30pm shift (sometimes coverage is needed on 11:00pm-7:00am shift, but facility will provide 2 week notice of any upcoming needs)* 1-year contract with an option to extend*Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist: *\* Perform stat and routine testing in the laboratory* Conduct specimen processing and preservation* Perform patient/unit blood compatibility and issue compatible blood and blood products* Perform required quality control and instrument maintenance.*Requirements of the Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist: *\* Must have at least 1 years of experience in a medical lab setting* Experience needed: specimen processing, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, basic microbiology, and blood bank* Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, or in a related science* Current ASCP/AMT certification* Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist or currently acquiring this license/certification, must be completed in the next 30 days (Required)*Benefits and Compensation for the Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist: *\* Salary: $31.00 to $32.00 /hourPay: $31.00 - $32.00 per hourJob Types: Contract, Full-timePay: $31.00 - $32.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Holidays* Monday to Friday* Night shift* Weekends as neededEducation:* Bachelor's (Required)Experience:* MLS: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:* ASCP or AMT Certification (Required)* Medical Technologist license (Preferred)* BLS Certification (Preferred)Work Location: In person
