Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Scientist working within the Stem Cell Laboratory performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures and related duties. Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program, or a Bachelors degree and one to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist required.
Six months Blood banking experience required.
Stem cell handling/processing experience highly desired.
Flow cytometry experience highly desired.
Molecular experience highly desired.
Certification, Licensure, Registration
Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT is required.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; Shifts will range from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm; Either 8 or 10 hour shifts.
On Call - every 3rd week/weekend
Full Time; 80 hours every 2 weeks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$27.50 - $41.50 per hour
