Job Summary This position is for a commercial body Mounting Technician requiring some welding skill. In addition, our PATH FORWARD permits advancement up the pay scale ladder. The key responsibility is to mount commercial bodies on trucks. Some MIG welding is required to attach hitches and bumpers.
Job Description Positioning bodies on truck frame, wiring lights and welding or bolting truck bodies to frame brackets, adding bolt-on or welding on hitches and bumpers. Plan and set up of operations according to our Lean Manufacturing System. Weld metals with skill according to established specifications and time frames. Ensure all safety measures being observed while working such as wearing protective gear for the face and body. Skilled lead welders will supervise welding operations and train entry level welders Skills Required Love of trucks Knowledge of the different methods of welding Ability to successfully pass the company standards for all welding applicants Ability to work as a team member on a Lean Team Must be able to finish work within given time PROVEN OPERATING AND SAFETY TRAINING A PLUS:
MIG Welding Machines / MIG welding Gun Hand Tools like Clamps and Measuring Tape Poly Torch Plasma Cutter Electric Grinder Over-Head Crane Forklift Education/Training/Certifications High School Degree or Equivalent Vocational course in welding or previous welding training. Additional Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to communicate, lift up to 50lb., stand, sit, bend, stoop, reach overhead, operate in confined spaces and climb ladders and/or work in high places. Shift Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm. Weekends are not required but may be requested depending on business needs. Pay Rate/Salary Starting at $17.00/hr depending on experience.
