As an MRI Supervisor, you will supervise and direct subordinate personnel including technologists, PSAs, and administrative support personnel.
Coordinates/oversees workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity and minimize any delays to the patient.
Works with the MRI Manager to establish objectives and standards for patient care.
Demonstrates proper techniques and procedures to staff.
Evaluates quality of images in maintaining quality assurance.

Primary Duties:
Supervises staff.
Sets schedules to maximize utilization of staff and minimize delays to patients.
Hires, orients, trains, counsels/evaluates, and as necessary reprimands/ terminates staff.
Sets standards for conduct of work and required performance and ensures compliance with such standards.
Collects data regarding anticipated personnel, supply, and equipment needs to contribute to the development of radiology policies, procedures, and departmental operating budget(s).
Recommends new/changes to existing policies and/or procedures.
Monitors the technical accuracy of films.
Direct retakes, as necessary.
Demonstrates proper operation of new/existing equipment.
Ensures adequate level of supplies for efficient operation of department/area.
Evaluates quality and cost effectiveness of new or replacement supplies/equipment and makes recommendations to supervisor and/or Director.
Contacts Hospital or outside equipment maintenance organization(s) as needed for department equipment repair/maintenance.
Ensures that department operations are conducted safely and in accordance with all Hospital and governing bodies rules/regulations.
Performs duties of a Technologist as necessary, including, Schedules and prepares patients for examinations and reviews patient charts for appropriate history and orders.
Scans and monitors patients during scanning procedures.
Administers contrast materials and assists with interventional studies, as needed.
Films images and delivers films to radiologist for STAT readings.
Prepares reports and maintains records of exams performed using the radiology department computer system.
Reconciles all errors found on these reports and verifies that all exams meet quality assurance standards and are accurate.
Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, exam, and other necessary functions.
Trains staff to complete the required functions on the Radiology Information System and maintains proper use of the system by all personnel.
Assists in maintaining charge and billing system and ensures accuracy of data entries in consultation with the Manager and the department Billing Manger.
Maintains current knowledge of technical and business developments and communicates relevant information to the work group.
Qualifications: Associate degree or 1-3 years formal training in Radiologic Technology.
3-4 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) within 1 Year.
