JOB TITLE: MRI TECHNOLOGIST TRAINEE
A.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the MRI technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.
B.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.)
Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
2.)
Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
3.)
Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
4.)
Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
5.)
Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
6.)
Perform scan in accordance to center's protocol.
7.)
Administer intravenous contrast.
8.)
Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
9.)
Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
10.)
Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
11.)
Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
12.)
Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
13.)
Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
14.)
Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.
15.)
Contrast administration

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
ARRT certified OR sitting for boards within 30 days
Must be certified in CPR

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
E.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
Extensive interactions with all customer groups, including patients, families, referring community and other SHC employees.
Will also have regular interactions with contractors, vendors, and medical transport personnel.
