NYTech College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks an MRI Technician.
The position is to be located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.
Responsibilities
Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts.
Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance.
Assist radiologist with procedure performance.
Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately. Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions. Maintain accurate patient records. Provide orientation for new technologists. Provide education and training for student technologists. Assist with education and training of staff. Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.
Qualifications
Graduate of a 24 month AMA approved School of Radiology Technology. 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality is preferred. Required field of expertise in ARRT certification in Radiology.
IV credentialed if applicable.
BLS Certification is preferred.
Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs.
maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions. Knowledge of and ability to perform sequences such as fMRI or Diffusion Tensor Imaging. Experience with Philips equipment preferred. USD $110,000.00/Yr.
