The Fixed Income department within MSIM has team members located in New York, Boston, London, Tokyo and Singapore, managing $183B of active fixed income mandates for a broad range of clients.
With staff in Boston, New York and London, the High Yield Team is one of eight specialist teams within the fixed income department. There are 8 Portfolio Managers, 23 Research Analysts and 4 Traders all dedicated to high-yield markets. The team operates globally integrated and manages US, Global and European strategies for institutional, intermediary, and individual clients worldwide. Team assets were $21.4B as of March 31, 2024.

Responsible for analyzing and evaluating the credit worthiness of high yield bond issuers and making timely investment recommendations.
Primary Responsibilities: Conduct fundamental high yield research on bond issuers and make timely investment recommendations within two-to-three industry sectors. Preference for individuals with 5 to 10 years of experience; Broadcasting and Media industry experience beneficial. Actively make buy and sell recommendations. Develop relationships with company management teams and sponsors and unique sources of information to help analyze followed industries and companies. Develop reverse inquiry ideas including structuring deal terms and covenants. Increased responsibility based on merit and investment performance. Job Requirements: Relevant investment experience with significant experience in the high yield and/or leveraged finance market. Ability to independently identify and develop investment opportunities on a timely basis. Superior investment performance and strong critical thinking and decision-making skills. Experience and ability to navigate distressed debt situations. Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team, which includes the ability to be flexible and adaptable. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Build and maintain proprietary financial models; advanced computer skills (Excel, Bloomberg). Strong attention to detail. Wage Transparency Statement Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $130,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
