Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the Multi-Competent Imaging Technologist position is to provide Radiology services, including x ray energy, magnetic resonance and computer processing techniques for inpatients and outpatients of University Hospital.
Performs radiographic procedures to demonstrate vascular structures for the interpretation and/or therapeutic intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
Exercises professional judgment throughout the performance of his/her duties and maintains a demeanor that supports the values and mission of University Hospital.
Contributes and functions as a cohesive member of the department, ensuring that all interaction with patients, physicians, nurses, administrators and other members of the hospital staff are professional and in accordance with the established guidelines of the institution.
Performs procedures in compliance with NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) standards and the principals of As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
Qualifications:
Must possess a current NJ Department of Environmental Protection Diagnostic Radiography license and current ARRT certification or be ARRT eligible.
If ARRT eligible, must attain certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain throughout employment.
Two (2) years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology required.
Computer literacy.
The successful candidate must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR.
The individual must be able to pass a medical evaluation and a respirator fit test and wear an N95 particulate filter respirator mask in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment.
Annual Respirator Fit Testing required.
Must be certified in the service to which the candidate is applying MRI; Cat Scan (CT); Angiography
