Job Summary: The NDT Tech's role is to perform verification of in-process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications. Also perform NDT procedures to include MT, UT, and RT testing as applicable. Essential Functions: Verifies conformance of product to shop drawings and contract requirements through:Dimensional checks with a tape measure to drawingsVisual inspection of welds, NDT testing to include MT, RT, and UT as applicableSet up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipmentConduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of Inspection Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strictApply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate resultsWhere to find and how to use the "parts-of-line" informationSafe working load of the hoist lineAdditional Duties: Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operationsQuality Standards Must be able to read and understand codes, and specifications. Will ensure all inspections comply with applicable standards and specifications. Teamwork Teamwork is essential in this position and the NDT Technician must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff. Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with the safety department.
