This opportunity resides with Live, Virtual, Constructive Solutions, a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Network Control Technician for The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) contract. The Network Control Technician is responsible for administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client, server, and network infrastructure. The candidate will work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices. Additional duties include performing Microsoft Windows client/server administration, maintenance, patching, configuring systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and other duties as assigned. Individual must be able to work independently and within a team. Position requires flexibility to work occasional non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.
Minimum Qualifications2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field OR0 years experience with Masters in related field ORHigh School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.Security+ or equivalent certificationUse of Enterprise Patching systems preferredCisco experience requiredLinux+/Microsoft/Cisco certification preferredMust possess or be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearancePreferred RequirementsExperience with Cisco switching/troubleshooting connectivity issuesExperience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstationsExperience with VMwareExperience with network and performance monitoring tools (SolarWinds, etc.)Strong technical troubleshooting skillsAbility to read and digest technical informationStrong attention to detailStrong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work prioritiesMust possess excellent oral and written communication skillsMust be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security ClearancePhysical RequirementsJob performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
