Job DescriptionJob Description:The Neurodiagnostic Technologist performs standard electroencephalographic examinations and nerve conduction studies for patients of all ages, primarily 18 years and older, according to established standards set by ASET, ABRET AANEM and Essentia Health under the guidance of a Neurologist.This Position will also perform complex, diverse, and confidential support duties and general office duties for respective department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination and scheduling, requesting records and chart preparation, and other duties to support departmental operations as required.Work Schedule:0.8 FTE Flex, Days, Tuesday - FridayEducation Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:Prepares patients for variety of tests and explains procedures to patients and familiesDetermines the extent and mode of testing and records data for physician interpretationAssists Neurodiagnostic Tech II to complete, analyze and interpret the results of neurodiagnostic tests accuratelyAssists with Neurodiagnostic Tech II to identify abnormalities or irregularities in brain wave patterns, nerve conduction velocities and able to inform and communicate effectively to neurologistMaintains strict adherence to quality control protocols and regulatory standards set forth by organizations like ASET and other relevant bodies. This includes properly calibrating equipment, maintaining accurate records, and following safety procedures to ensure the reliability and validity of test resultsAssist with the maintenance and upkeep of neurodiagnostic equipment and supplies. This may involve cleaning and sterilizing equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring that all instruments are in good working condition to facilitate smooth testing proceduresProvides patient care and support throughout the testing process. This includes addressing patient concerns, answering questions about the procedure, and ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed before, during, and after the testCalibrates, operates, and performs routine maintenance on EEG and EMG equipmentEducational Requirement:Associate's degree or Higher or a graduate of an accredited institution for Neurodiagnostic TechnologyPreferred Qualifications:Previous EEG and NCV experience in an acute hospital setting or ambulatory care setting Licensure/Certification Qualifications:Certification/Licensure Requirements:Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 3 months from date of hireEast Brainerd Lakes market only:Registered In one of the following strongly preferred: EEG, NCV, EP or 1 year experience in one of the above with becoming registered in EEG/NCV within 2 years of hire or completion of a Neurodiagnostic Technology program with becoming registered in EEG/NCV within 2 years of hireMust Meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer.Job Location: Brainerd ClinicShift Rotation: FTE Flex Days (United States of America)Shift Start/End: Varies/VariesHours Per Pay Period: 64Compensation Range: $25.42 - $38.13 / hourUnion:FTE: 0.8Weekends:Call Obligations:Sign On Bonus:
