About The Position **Job Title:** Nurse Practitioner **Job Specialty:** Neurosurgery - Pituitary **Job Duration:** 26 weeks **Shift:** Part-time, Mon 9-5, Wed 9-1:30pm, Thurs 10-1pm **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** Any neurology or surgical experience is a plus **License:** Advanced Practice Provider license required **Certifications:** BLS certification required **Must-Have:** Master's in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP); Completion of proctoring by the Medical Staff Office **Job Description:** - Provide high-quality advanced nursing care in accordance with professional regulatory standards. - Conduct patient evaluations, assessments, education, interventions, and document care plans. - Request physician consultations and multidisciplinary consults as necessary. - Recognize and address ethical/legal/medical dilemmas in nursing practice, consulting appropriate resources when making decisions. - May work independently or under indirect supervision of a supervising physician. - Treat a variety of age populations and work different hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Conduct inpatient rounding on weekdays and weekends as assigned, and provide extended care services upon request. - Arrange admission and transfer of patients, perform exams, history, and physicals, and write progress notes with care plans. - Furnish medications (non-narcotic) and durable medical equipment, and controlled substances with appropriate licensure/certification. - Order laboratory tests, radiological, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and neurological studies, and provide oxygen therapy, respiratory treatment, and pulmonary tests. - Perform suture and drain removal; administer medications and IV therapy with ability to assess and adjust dosing. - Perform other duties as assigned. Candidates must be willing to undergo internal screening, which may take 2-3 months.
