*New* English Language Arts (Ela) Teacher Needed In Niantic, Connecticut

Minimum 1+ years teaching experience required. Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and qualified English Language Arts (ELA) teacher to join our team in Salem, CT. This is a full-time, temporary position starting immediately and lasting through the end of the school year. The successful candidate will teach general education ELA to students in grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging ELA lessons to students in grades 6-8. Foster a classroom environment that promotes literacy development and critical thinking. Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere. Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school activities. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Education, English, or a related field. VALID CT TEACHING CERT in English Language Arts (Grades 6-8). Previous experience teaching ELA at the middle school level preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners, including those with special needs. Familiarity with Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A passion for teaching and helping students grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers. Additional Information: This is an onsite, full-time position for the remainder of the school year. Hours are approximately 8:15 AM to 3:20 PM on school days. Immediate start date required. Compensation is anywhere from $38 - $45 per hour, depending on experience.
