Minimum 1+ years visually impaired experience required. Details: Position Type: Full-time Pay range: $40+/hr; based on experience Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in various educational settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and one-on-one settings. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, goals, and abilities. Adapt and modify instructional materials, curriculum, and assessments to accommodate visual impairments and facilitate access to the general education curriculum. Teach compensatory skills, including braille literacy, orientation and mobility, independent living skills, and assistive technology proficiency. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support for students with visual impairments. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress, monitor achievement of IEP goals, and adjust instruction and support strategies as needed. Provide consultation, training, and support to school staff, parents, and community members on best practices for supporting students with visual impairments. Stay current on research, technology, and best practices in the field of visual impairment education. Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field. Valid teaching certification/license in Visual Impairment (TVI) or ability to obtain certification/license. Previous experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired preferred. Proficiency in braille literacy, assistive technology, and specialized instructional techniques for students with visual impairments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals, families, and community members.
