Sunbelt is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist near Oak Park, Illinois for a contracted position during the upcoming school year.
As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students.
You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to provide comprehensive psychological services and interventions.




Responsibilities:




Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and challenges in cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral domains.


Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) that meet students' unique needs.


Provide counseling and guidance services to students individually or in small groups to address emotional, social, and behavioral issues.


Support the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions to promote positive learning environments and improve student outcomes.


Consult with teachers and school staff to address classroom management strategies, learning strategies, and accommodations for students with special needs.


Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute expertise and collaborate on student support plans.


Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations or critical incidents.


Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring.


Stay up to date with current research and best practices in the field of school psychology.




Qualifications:




Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.


Current state license or certification as a School Psychologist (or eligible for licensure/certification).


Strong knowledge of psychological theories, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.


Experience conducting assessments and evaluations for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.


Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.


Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.


Empathy, patience, and the ability to establish rapport with students and create a safe and supportive environment.


Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.


Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
