YOUR ROLE
ST is excited to welcome anNFC Hardware – Field Application Engineer Internat our office located in Santa Clara, CA.
During this internship, you will be involved in the support of customers for the adoption and deployment of NFC secure payment solutions in consumer devices, such as smartphones and wearables.
You will work with a variety of skilled professional, closely collaborating with customers and product team for the evaluation, integration, and deployment of ST NFC secure payment system-on-chip products.
Technical support of NFC system-on-chip products includes RF antenna mockup design techniques, simulation, and testing, together with support for the qualification and pre-certification of customers' solutions against industry standards (e.g. Felica, NFC Forum, EMVCo).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate in the preparation and performance evaluation of payment solutions with ST NFC secure payment solution
Participate in the pre-certification of devices for relevant standards (e.g. Felica, NFC Forum, EMVCo).
Collaborate in bring-up and validation of testing equipment tools/robots
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Preferred experience in the following:
Debug and lab instruments (Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Wave Generators, Power Supplies, …)
Antenna matching and RF modulation techniques
Simulation experience (e.g. ADS)
Schematics / Layout
System level architecture and debug
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Experience in following:
NFC technology and systems (TypeA, TypeB, TypeF, TypeV, R/W, POS, Passive Card, CE, …)
NFC standards (EMVCo, NFC Forum, FeliCa)
Smartcard technology and secure payment solutions
android ecosystem and environment
Python / high-level scripts understanding
Other:
Proactiveness and leadership
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Customer relationship
Documentation skills
Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools
At STMicroelectronics, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base hourly rate range for this role is between $32 and $43 USD.
