Be part of a mission-driven organization that honors and serves our nation's veterans.Work alongside a collaborative and compassionate team dedicated to excellence in veteran care.Experience the fulfillment of serving those who have served while practicing in a state-of-the-art facility in beautiful Long Beach, California.What You'll Do: Execute job responsibilities autonomously while adhering to established departmental and hospital protocols, including telemetry monitoring and patient care procedures.Deliver accurate, reliable, and comprehensive patient assessments through detailed history-taking and physical examinations in our acute care medical unit.Diagnose and treat veterans with precision and compassion, ensuring the highest standard of care.Perform interviews, evaluations, and chart reviews as needed to provide well-rounded care.Ensure the timely documentation of assessments and care plans to support seamless daytime transitions.Ensure effective communication with the healthcare team to promptly address patient needs.Timely and suitable requests for consultations and technical procedures to be conducted by other physicians and qualified consultants or technicians.Utilize diagnostic tools with judicious efficiency, focusing on what's best for our veterans.Employ effective and judicious use of diagnostic exams, making every test and every decision count.Work Schedule: Primary Shift 7:00PM-7:00AM. The primary shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with both shorter and longer shifts available as needed by the service.
Practice Environment: Primary responsibility is for the Inpatient Medicine Wards, which consist of four distinct wards located on three different floors within the same building. Responsibilities may encompass conducting consultations and admission evaluations in the Emergency Department, delivering cross-coverage across designated inpatient wards, and addressing CODE Blue and Rapid Response Team (RRT) scenarios within the healthcare facility. While coverage of the ICU is not mandatory, those who opt to cover the ICU are encouraged to obtain NORAM certification in both non-emergent and emergent situations.
Qualifications: Completed Internal Medicine Residency Training.Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.U.S. Citizenship.Preferred Experience: Board certification or eligibility is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Candidates with a background in Internal Medicine, complemented by experience in Emergency Medicine, are also acceptable. Experience as a hospitalist preferred.
Comprehensive benefits packages, we offer the following: Competitive starting annual salary: $270,000-$300,000. Additionally, employees may be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in performance-based pay annually. Furthermore, employees can qualify for Proficiency Awards, which are available in addition to Pay for Performance incentives. Regular salary reviews will occur every two years, and all employees will receive cost-of-living adjustments annually.Education Debt Reduction Program Eligible: Reimbursement Program that repays qualifying student loan debt up to $200,000 tax-free for up to five years, or service periods, for individuals in patient care positions designated* as extremely difficult for recruitment and retention by local facilities.Paid Time Off: You will receive 208 hours or approximately 26 days of annual leave a year.
