Non-Commercial Business Development Managers (NCBDM) are assigned to the Non-Commercial Segments (Business & Industry, Healthcare, College and University, Travel, Leisure). The NCBDM's are responsible for the overall sales performance within the non-commercial segment with assigned Clients within a geographic area of responsibility. The primary goal of the NCBDM is to achieve the goals of Acxion and their non-commercial client/manufacturer.
NCBDM's are expected to work closely with the outside sales team, the Segment Sales Assistant, the Corporate Client Coordinators, Customer Service Representatives, Marketing, their Clients non-commercial teams, and other employees of the Client to meet the objectives of Acxion and the Client.
NCBDM's are expected to be in the field with the Acxion sales team to train, conduct, and support major operator and distributor presentations. The NCBDM is the recognized expert for the Acxion sales team and our customers for all facets of the non-commercial segment.
It is the responsibility of the NCBDM to exploit all major sales opportunities with the Contract Management Companies, Group Purchasing Organizations, and the non-commercial operators assigned.

Principal Interaction with Client Management TeamDevelop a working relationship with the regional manager and all appropriate levels of the assigned Client's organization.Develop, execute, and monitor the sales plan in accordance with the Client's expectations.If the Client offers a bonus plan for Acxion, strive to achieve the maximum payment.Interact directly with the Client & Client Mgr. to create and execute promotion activity in the markets.Provide to Client & Client Mgr. competitive distributor and operator information.Supply the Client Mgr. with market updates.Work with the Client to capitalize on opportunities and resolve problems.Assist DMB, RSM, and MBM with major presentations when appropriate.Participate at major distributor sales meetings when appropriate.Operator InteractionEnsure all volume opportunities are pursued with all Large Leverage Operators within the assigned geographic coverage area.Customize programs for major operators when appropriate.Conduct product line presentations with major operators when appropriate.Be a model/champion on the use of the Game Changer CRM to record all sales activity.Be an approachable and supportive resource to the sales team.Train and review relevant market information on an ongoing basis and conduct competitive cuttings and new product introductions as required.Enhance product knowledge; be reactive to the needs of the market and sales force.Supervise activity against objectives and review problem areas with Market Directors.Frequently interact and communicate all segment activities and plans with the Market Directors for all designated sales specialist requests.New ProductsEvaluate all relevant new products and outline approach to the market, prior to presenting to sales.Ensure that all information and product knowledge is given to the sales, administrative, and customer service teams.Basic Position RequirementsAbilitiesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently with little supervision, to prioritize/plan your schedule. Able to multi-task and organize a wide range of information. Good decision, negotiation, and analytical skills. Maintain high level of professionalism. Negotiation skills to optimize opportunities with clients, distributor, operators, and sales teams. Culinary/display skills to present product professionally and make attractive to public. Must exhibit common sense in the ability to make the right choices in a variety of situations.
KnowledgePrefer college degree in business or related field or equivalent experience. Must have over 3 years of previous sales experience. Over 5 years of experience in a BDM role. Strong knowledge of the Contract Management and Group Purchasing Organizations. Strong working knowledge of the brokerage business and relationship to Principals and overall business. Experience with Microsoft Office including Game Changer (CRM), Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Outlook.

Working ConditionsFrequent on the road driving and possible air travel; highly concentrated mental conditions; and visual alertness. Major portion of the day is spent talking either in-person or by telephone dealing with customer service issues. Frequent up/down motion to perform duties. Moderate typing, calculating or otherwise working with fingers. Visual acuity. Ability to hear and receive detailed information.
