We have an immediate need for a full-time Notes Processor / Assist with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to join our team. Offers are contingent upon passing a background check.
\n Responsibilities Conduct review of caregiver notes to ensure information is accurate and complete. Provide clear instructions and guidance to caregivers regarding documentation. Communicate with caregiver to obtain corrections or missing information as needed.Keep payroll deadlines and make sure all contractors are accurately paid, in collaboration with the billing specialist.Use medical management software, PDF editing software, spreadsheets, email, and other basic Microsoft Office applications. Collaborate with Patient Coordinators to obtain DME requests and provide updates of status. Collaborate with Medical Records Specialist to coordinate request of supportive medical records.Write clear, concise, and persuasive letters of medical necessity for all assigned patients' DME requests.Prepare prescriptions and any additional supporting documentation required for DME authorization.Submit the DME packet to the respective DME provider. Monitor the progress of DME requests and authorizations, proactively identifying and addressing any delays or issues that may arise.Conduct regular follow-up with DME companies to track the status of orders and ensure timely delivery to patients.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all DME requests and regularly provide updates to Patient Coordinators to communicate to patients. Team Collaboration: Work as a team to manage a shared case loadFoster a culture of collaboration and teamwork with the Patient Coordinator roleFacilitate effective communication and coordination between team members to ensure seamless and excellent continuity of services Minimum QualificationsHealthcare Clerical experience preferred.Key competencies include communication skills both written and verbal, planning and organizing, problem solving, attention to detail, critical thinking, active listening, empathy, and teamwork.Experience with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)Minimum associate level education preferred. (High school diploma or equivalent is required.)
