Responsible for women's health care in the areas of health screening, health education, family planning, screening for sexually transmitted diseases, obstetrical care, and prenatal care of pregnant women. Assess the female patient by performing a comprehensive health history and physical examination. Performs, obtains, and/or orders appropriate laboratory tests to assist in screening and diagnostic evaluation and follow-up. Prescribes oral contraceptives, fits diaphragms, inserts IUDs, and promotes safe sexual practices. Perform pregnancy testing and uterine sizing. Monitors progress of prenatal patients and assesses risk status. Perform evaluation of normal and high-risk obstetrical patients. Performs limited OB and GYN ultrasounds. Experience in in-office GYN procedures including IUD and Nexplanon insertion and removal, I&D of abscess, Endometrial biopsy, Vulvar biopsy, Wound care preferred.
